Equity in Action Strategy Helps Non-Profits Achieve their DEI Goals


RAMA Consulting produced an Equity in Action Strategy with Homeport, a non-profit housing developer based in Columbus, Ohio. The Equity in Action Strategy was comprehensive and participative for Homeport leadership and staff to engage and contribute to the process. Homeport and RAMA designed the strategy to develop a realistic and action-oriented plan that aligned with the organization’s (Homeport) values statement and created the foundation for an inclusive and diverse workforce. The outcome of this plan focused on how Homeport could diversify its service delivery environment and engage with staff members and their community more equitably. Along with this work, Homeport created its first DEI Commitment Statement and included applicable strategies for key goal areas around Policies & Governance, Equitable Service Delivery, Reporting & Accountability, and others. Additionally, RAMA remains engaged with Homeport in helping them create their first DEI Council that will advocate for change internally and ensure more equitable practices for all of Homeport’s stakeholders.
