DEI Planning for Mental Health and Recovery Services Agency

Project Focus

  • Develop an Equity in Action Strategic Plan
  • Stakeholder-informed planning process
  • Intentionally centering DEI efforts at the organization's core

RAMA Consulting worked alongside the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Lucas County (MHRSBLC) to develop and produce their Equity in Action Strategic Plan. Our Equity in Action Strategy identified priorities, goals, and tactics that provided an actionable roadmap for ensuring MHRSBLC’s diversity and inclusion efforts were informed by its leadership, staff, partners, and other stakeholders. The MHRSBLC’s board faced leadership transitions during this time, and they wanted to be intentional about guaranteeing their DEI efforts were at the core of the organization. Since this board operates as a convener of other local organizations, they emphasized generating a plan that ensured diversity in service providers they worked with, equitable implementation of services delivered, and engaged leadership that helps to identify inclusive best practices when collaborating with providers. Ultimately, MHRSBLC discovered that it must first conduct its internal processes and structure through an equitable lens which will, in turn, support a more inclusive service delivery model.
